Split and Trogir
You can start your cruising holiday in Split or Trogir, two historic coastal towns with more than 2000 years of continuous urban tradition. You have a chance to explore these beautiful cities, there are a lot of options for sightseeing.
Then you board the gulet and meet the crew with the traditional welcoming drink. These two towns are perfect starting points to begin your cruise. After check in and comfortable accommodation, the captain takes you towards the next destination.
Brač
First, you can visit the island of Brač with its beautiful villages and beaches. Bobovište is a picturesque village with nice and calm atmosphere and no heavy crowds. Here you can take a walk, have a drink or a dinner ashore and completely relax.
You can also visit Milna, a village in the western part of the island located in a natural harbor which is famous for natural beauties, baroque architecture, and shipbuilding tradition. In this beautiful bay, even the ships of the Roman emperor Diocletian used to find a safe harbor during the building of his magnificent palace in Split.
Near the small town Bol on the southern coast of the island, you have a chance to swim and sunbathe on the most beautiful Adriatic beach know as Zlatni Rat (The Golden Horn). It is a beautiful gravel beach with recognizable white color and shape that keeps changing, depending on the tide, currents, and winds. The beach is surrounded by lavish pine forest where you can see the remains of a Roman Villa Rustica with a pool, while the Horn itself is a protected geomorphologic phenomenon.
Hvar and Pakleni Islands
Then the cruise takes you to the famous island of Hvar that was rated as one of the top 10 most beautiful islands in the world. The main highlight is Town Hvar with lots of different sightseeing and hiking options. Hvar is a beautiful Dalmatian town with rich nightlife and numerous excellent restaurants specialized in local cuisine as well as in exotic specialties.
For the young, the town guarantees a great time in bars and coffee shops. Those who prefer more relaxing activities will be swept away with its rich history that goes back to prehistoric times. The most unique and the recognizable natural beauty of Hvar are the Pakleni Islands (Hell Islands), a group of small islands in front of the town of Hvar. Here your gulet can stay on anchor and you have the opportunity to swim around several beautiful bays.
Korčula
The cruise continues towards the island of Korčula and its renowned historic city Korčula, also know as “Little Dubrovnik” and home to famous explorer Marco Polo. According to a legend, the island was also a home to the ancient Trojan hero Antenor who is also known as the founder of Padua. The island was reigned by Greeks, Illyrians, and Romans. The most prominent trace was left by the Venetian Republic, especially in architecture. This beautiful Dalmatian pearl offers something for everybody, museums and historic sites, restaurants and bars, shops, and amazing places to swim.
Another interesting place is a small town Vela Luka (Big Harbor) on the western side of the island with a rich cultural inheritance that can be seen in the exceptional museums, galleries, architecture, and archeological sites. Nearby there is an extraordinary archeological site Vela Spila (Big Cave) that is one of the most important prehistoric cave dwellings in Europe. Findings in Vela Spila represent the first evidence of Palaeolithic ceramic art at the end of the last Ice Age and prove that the island was inhabited already in prehistory.
Lastovo and Mljet
From Korčula the cruise continues to the nearby island of Lastovo. The island is noted for its 15th and 16th-century Venetian architecture and especially for its natural beauty and preservation of natural landscapes. In 2006 the Croatian Government made the island and its archipelago a nature park. National park Lastovo is the youngest natural park in Croatia and strives for the preservation of pristine nature of the Mediterranean. Here you can enjoy the pure untouched beauty of nature. There are numerous options for hiking and relaxation.
The Island of Mljet is another beautiful place to relax, swim and sunbathe and most of all enjoy the nature. You will have a chance to visit another astounding nature park. National Park Mljet was established in 1960 and covers the entire northwest part of the island. Today it covers the area of 5.375 hectares of protected land and surrounding sea. The park’s main attractions are two salt water lakes. There are a lot of possibilities for strolling around the pleasant, shaded paths, swimming and exploring the park with bicycle or kayak.
Elaphiti Islands: Šipan and Lopud
The sea takes you further on to the Elaphiti Islands, a small group of islands near the city of Dubrovnik. There you have a chance to visit nice little towns (ports) for a walk or drink, or you can stay in some nice quiet bay and relax away from the crowds and maybe even spend the night under the stars.
Island Šipan is the first stop. Although it is only 16 square kilometers big, Šipan is the biggest island in the group with only two bigger villages: Šipanska Luka in the west and Suđurađ in the east side of the island. The island flourished during the Dubrovnik Republic when the most important and strongest crafts were shipbuilding, shipping, olive growing, fishing, and wine growing. Lopud is another of the Elaphiti Islands with one of the most beautiful sandy beaches of the Adriatic in a cove Šunj, where you can enjoy swimming and sunbathing to the maximum.
Dubrovnik
The cruise ends with the visit of the Dalmatian jewel Dubrovnik. Even if you don’t like mass tourism and crowds, you will love Dubrovnik. With its architecture, atmosphere, and astounding city walls it is definitely one of the most amazing towns in the world.
Your gulet can be moored either in town Gruž or in a small village of Zaton nearby and from there you can explore Dubrovnik on your own or with a guide. The best way to experience Dubrovnik is at the end of the cruise to finish the Dalmatian holiday in the most prominent way. Another option is to take a similar route with a start in Dubrovnik and end in Split.
